Holdem is all about players and position. All knowledgeable Hold’em players agree that position in no restriction Hold’em is fundamentally significant. Playing your hole cards in last spot will be much more profitable than in early poker spot. This is because much more information is collected right before acting.
For example, I was playing a $1-$2 no limit cash game at a local casino. I came in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer marker, so I could see a bit of excitement. Flop arrived A-A-4. A bettor in starting spot placed a $15 wager. 2 individuals drop out and it was now my turn to act. I should have folded, but something seemed a bit odd. I labeled this individual as a weak-tight bettor, and regularly if he held the biggest hand he would just check, so I called.
The turn showed with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My competitor made another bet of $20. I debated a tiny bit, but decided to re-raise another $30thirty dollars over and above his $20. He dropped out and I take the cash.
Sitting at late spot gives you an idea where you are positioned by watching how gamblers react and bet. On the other hand, gamblers at early spot might use their poker spot to check-raise the last positioned aggressors and corner them afterwords at the end.
