Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the closing table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While gambling on net poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently participates in the 200/400 NL max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I know Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is broke, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amt.. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest players anywhere in the world could be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found playing web poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in big stakes omaha hi-low and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
