Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve final game in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a massive pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest bettors anywhere in the world. While playing web poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all-in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the min buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I believe television can skew our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest players in the world might be players you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in big stakes omaha high and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
